Music often inspires scenes, helps mold the tone of a narrative, and in some cases, defines a character.
What follows is a collection of songs that are the soundtrack to this novel.
This song inspired a "deleted" scenario that does not occur in the novel but would be ideal for a movie or television series based off the book. This will add to the experience for the visual representation of the book on screen. Learn more about this new addition below under the "Bonus Scene" section of this page.

She will do anything to discover his location.

She feels that he is an ideal choice to be the mortal guardian of Emma. She continues her role in providing comfort to a girl who has had so much stolen from her.
Bonus Scene: Not Found In Book
While spending time in a city hidden away in the Amazon Rain Forest, Scythe slowly lets her guard down around Quinn. She eventually has a moment with the woman where the spirit inhabiting the teenage girl's body reflects on her past, all of her lives that she has experienced beginning with her first on a colony formed by John White in 1587. The original song, Yesterday, was created by the Beatles. However, J2 did a cover featured earlier on this page, that has a woman singing with "man" replaced with "one", making the song more universal. It is a haunting version that reflects Scythe's memories. A montage of images and moments from her past, both from her first life and the many others she has gone through both as a spirit roaming the planet to the times she was inhabiting a new mortal body. She is confronting all that she has gone through, the weight of those experiences weighing heavily upon her. She comes to terms with who she is and the life she desires to lead in the future.
Hidden Author
Where would the Author make a cameo?
Stan Lee is notorious for making a cameo in movies and television series based off his written works. With that in mind, where would the author of this novel make an appearance in a visual adaptation of the book?
Hidden deep within the Amazon rain forest is a civilization that lives in harmony not only among one another, but with the natural environment that they exist within. At one point during their visit to this mysterious utopia, Esper and Henry are seated at a table with several natives of the community. It is tradition for visitors and native alike to meet in a communal hall. Among those seated with the pair is the author who is enjoying the opportunity to interact with these unique people.
