Introductions

Lilly

Lilly is a neuroscientist who is making the attempt to create a human brain, replicating the organ using synthetic tissue. The tragic death of her father inspired her to discover the origins of life in the hope of bringing those who are in a coma back to consciousness. She is part of a larger project to bring to life an artificial human man.

Nia

Nia is an ophthalmologist who is developing a synthetic replication of the human eye. She has chosen a dark forest green coloration for what she is created since it is the favorite color Lilly, with whom she has an infatuation with. She is optimistic, friendly, outgoing, and quick to make friends with those around her.

Daisy

Playful with a hint of flirtatious intent with an easy-going, laid-back attitude towards life has made Daisy well liked among her peers at the facility that she works at. Her skills with robotics combined with that of her expertise as a dermatologist is why she was chosen to help create the skin for a synthetic replication of a human.

Phillip

Phillp wakes up in a strange room with no knowledge of his past. He is met by Doctor Kindred who is there to provide him therapeutic aid in confronting his loss of memory. She warns that he may never regain what was lost to him. It is her hope that eventually he will feel prepared to start a new life, possibly with her, in the European Alliance.

Doctor Kindred

Doctor Kindred is Phillip's therapist, providing him help with the loss of memory and his lack of knowledge of his former life. She provides a safe place for him to open up about his concerns, explore his philosophical ideas, and develop his understanding of the world around him. The pair soon form a personal connection.

Lubomir

He is a guest of the administration with previous experience with those who are running the facility that guides all of the European Alliance. He has become involved in the project concerning the development of an artificial recreation of a human, sensing that the key to its success will be through true love's kiss.

Bonus Scene: Not Found In Book

There were multiple scenes involving Phillip talking to Doctor Kindred covering a wide range of topics involving science, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and history that were deleted from the original draft. It was his way to process all that was flowing through his mind. These scenes did not help bring focus to the main storyline and would have nearly doubled the amount of text for the novel. However, it did set the tone of the novel being more science fiction rather than sci-fi, allowing for the exploration of these topics. Additional scenes concerning his interactions with Doctor Kindred would appear in a movie version of the novel to expand more upon topics that would be fascinating for an audience eager to challenge their mind as well as enjoy a good romance.

Hidden Author

Where would the Author make a cameo?

Stan Lee is notorious for making a cameo in movies and television series based off his written works. With that in mind, where would the author of this novel make an appearance in a visual adaptation of the book?

In a scene that altered the way the author thought of Daisy, completely changing his viewpoint of the woman, she is located in a public area eating a meal. It is there that people from all throughout the facility can gain access to food and socialize. He looks up from what he is doing to see Naia walk past him as she approaches Daisy to begin their scene from the book. He smiles before resuming reading a novel by Isaac Asimov featuring the three laws of robotics.
